AI Tools: the key to smarter work

The news industry is being greatly impacted by artificial intelligence (AI)

Companies are utilizing AI to streamline operations and reduce expenses. Some companies today have even implemented AI-driven internships for tasks that were previously done by humans

As an operations lead at a creative agency, I utilize AI technology on a daily basis. Tasks such as content development and standard operating procedures take up a significant amount of my time, but with the help of AI, I am able to save 5–6 hours (!) of routine work each week. This technology can also greatly benefit you in your role!

So, how can I incorporate AI into my daily work?

1. BRAINSTORMING


In the past, I used to collaborate with a copywriter or an art director when working on creative projects. We would come up with ideas together using a "ping-pong" technique, where we would take turns building off of each other's ideas. Now, I use a similar method with GPT-Chat. I asked it to generate a list of potential ideas for a specific project or challenge. This is a great way to quickly gather multiple perspectives and generate new ideas

2. GENERATING MEETING NOTES AND SUMMARIES

GPT-Chat is an excellent tool for generating automatic meeting notes. It can create a clear and readable text, summarize it, and even tailor the summary to your desired length

3. MARKET RESEARCH

ChatGPT is great for automating market research. For instance, I can use it to generate a list of companies within a specific category to identify any potential gaps. This information can be added to columns and incorporated into research sheets

It's important to note that some of the information provided by ChatGPT may be out of date, as it was trained on data prior to 2021. However, it can still serve as a useful starting point for your research


4. WRITING HEADLINES

As someone who learned English as a second language, despite studying it for 20 years, I still find it difficult to come up with compelling headlines. Fortunately, ChatGPT is a great tool for generating headlines

5. WRITING FOLLOW-UP E-MAILS AND TASKS FROM A CALL SUMMARY

ChatGPT can assist in crafting follow-up emails and tasks based on a call summary. It offers suggestions for the language, tone, and format of the emails or tasks. Additionally, it helps in creating personalized and accurate responses by comprehending the context of the call summary, providing relevant information, and answering potential questions

6. IMPROVING THE TEXT STRUCTURE

I am a big fan of Notion as a comprehensive workspace for my personal tasks, and I am fortunate that they have recently introduced an AI assistant. I use Notion's AI Assist to structure my writing and make it more comprehensible. It helps me choose the appropriate words and phrasing to ensure coherence and flow, as well as reorganizing my document in a way that is easy for readers to understand

AI tools are like having a superhero sidekick; they can handle all the tedious and repetitive tasks, allowing you to focus on the more exciting ones! With the appropriate selection of AI tools and their proper integration into your daily work, you can quickly conquer your to-do list and achieve new levels of productivity and success.
